Altrusa MHC August Meeting

The Altrusa MHC August meeting was held on August 16 at Ohev Zion Synagogue, graciously hosted by Martha Woody. Our guest speaker was Mr. DeWitt House, Vice President of Community Investments at The Harvest Foundation.

Mr. House gave an engaging and informative presentation, sharing the history of the Foundation and its focus on youth, economic development, and building a vibrant community. He highlighted many of the impactful community projects supported by the Foundation and provided valuable insight into the grant opportunities available to organizations such as Altrusa MHC.

We are grateful to Mr. House for taking the time to speak with us and look forward to welcoming him again in the future.

Time of Remembrance for Nancy Cochrane Bryant

ALTRUSA INTERNATIONAL OF MARTINSVILLE/HENRY COUNTY VA

Altrusa MHC remembers with love and gratitude our dear member, Nancy Bryant, who joined our club in 2016. Nancy faithfully served in many roles, including chair of the Service Committee, Club President, and leader of our yard sales. She also hosted our monthly meetings at First United Methodist Church and spearheaded the collection of plastic bags that provided a community bench outside one of our local libraries.

Nancy was dedicated, hardworking, and always ready to lend a helping hand. She loved the beach, cherished her family, and gave her time generously to many organizations, as well as to her church where she was a faithful member. Her love for her community was evident through everything she did.

Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, our club, and our community. Yet her spirit will live on in the heart of Altrusa and in the lasting impact she made through her service and friendship.
