Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service.
Our club offers an opportunity to make a real difference in Centre County PA. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year.
We are seeking new volunteers to join our organization and make a difference. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.

Service Highlights
Bi-Annual Road Clean-Up
On June 6, 2026 Altrusa Centre County’s bi-annual road clean-up on Ferguson Road was another successful endeavor! Seven members collected 3 bags of trash. This is the Club’s 5th year of cleaning up the roadway and we are excited to report that the amount of trash collected has diminished each year, which gives us hope that folks are looking at decreasing their footprint on our world!
Bat Boxes
On June 14th, 7 Altrusan’s got together to start our Bat Boxes project. Roxanne and her handyman had cut all of the pieces needed to make 6 bat boxes. All we had to do was stain, score, and polyurethane the wood. Two hours and hundreds of scores, later six bat boxes were in pieces in Roxanne’s driveway . We were bewitched, bothered, and bewildered on how we were going to actually put these things together. Fortunately, that task was scheduled for another day.
Field's Fundraiser
On Monday, June 8th, Altrusans, along with their family and friends descended on The Field Burger and Tap, in Toftrees, to enjoy a delicious meal and to take advantage of the generosity of the tasty restaurant. The Field gives back is a fundraising program where the restaurant kindly donates 10% of their sales to a local charity or non-profit organization. Altrusa International of Centre County had the privilege of being that organization on June 8th. We showed up in droves with loved ones in tow. A whopping $1066.90 was raised and has been deposited into our account.
Bunco
On June 23rd, we held our annual Bunco Night. With plenty of friendly faces around, the evening was brimming with laughter and spirited competition. However, the true champion of the night was our club. We successfully raised nearly $1,950, which will help us enhance our local and international communities through our service projects. Many are already excited for Bunco 2027!
